Thank You, Library Volunteers!

As has become a tradition at the HKA Libraries, this morning we had a little get-together with our wonderful library volunteers before everyone heads off into the winter break. We all enjoyed having some time to chat over a cup of tea/coffee and some sweet treats, sharing holiday plans and reading recommendations with each other. 

Our Secondary School Teacher Librarian Ginny Hand thanked the parents on behalf of the library team for their continued amazing support. It makes such a difference to our libraries. Ginny shared from a recent personal experience as a volunteer, having spent the week with our G12 students in Pokfulam Village. The village, which traces its origins back to the 17th century, was in need of a safety evacuation clean-up. Helping out in this project, Ginny noticed how each volunteer discovered their preferred role, how they could best support the project. The result was a beautiful, harmonious atmosphere. At HKA our parent volunteers also seem to discover their preferred roles. We are so grateful for the volunteers who have chosen that supporting the libraries is the right role for them, adding to the special feel that both of our libraries have. 

We were sorry that not all of our volunteers were able to come - we know it is a busy time of year - but hope you all know how much we appreciate all you do for us throughout the year.
